"Fran Di Giacomo has learned from personal experience that one of the more powerful 'weapons' against cancer is humor.  In her graceful new book, she shows her readers how the stresses and pains of living with cancer can be leavened with laughter and joy."

- Kern Wildenthal MD PhD

"The perfect perscription for life. Fran's experience for a life membership of the Chemo Club. This is a frank and funny account of Chemotherepy.  A must-read for anyone wanting to make the most of a challenging situation."

- John Kidwell, DDS & Chemo Club Graduate

The Chemo Lady

Fran’s first cancer was in l984. Since diagnosed again in l998, she had 16 surgeries, earned signature status in Oil Painters of America, produced solo art exhibits, and painted prestigious portraits--while on continuous chemo. (Whew!) Frequent requests for advice led her to write, I’d Rather Do Chemo Than Clean Out the Garage: Choosing Laughter Over Tears. “We don’t need tears right now, we need backbone and laughter!” Fran is outrageously witty, slightly wicked, and packed with trench warfare wisdom. She gives serious tools for handling a life crisis, and a powerful message about laughter and passion.
